San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce celebrates "Champions in Commerce"

The San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce hosts a variety of programs throughout the year that recognize and celebrate inspiring individuals and organizations making an impact in their workplace and their communities.

Thursday night was the culmination of a year’s worth of hard work as the Chamber recognized a special few businessmen and women for making a difference at the “Champions in Commerce” annual dinner and awards gala.

This, the 120th annual celebration of the Chamber, saw more than 400 attending the festivities at the Embassy Suite.

The big winners for the night were Tiffany Harris, 2023 Ambassador of the Year; AirOne Air Conditioning & Heating, 2023 Education Partner of the Year; School Fuel, 2023 Non-Profit of the Year; DMJ Real Estate Investments, 2023 Emerging Business of the Year; Central Texas Refuse, 2023 Green Business of the Year; KnDs Boutique, 2023 Small Business of the Year; Corridor Home & Commercial, 2023 Large Business of the Year; and Stephanie Reyes, Citizen of the Year.

During the evening the Chamber also presented the Shining Stars Under 40 awards to five emerging young leaders from the business sector who have demonstrated a commitment to improving the civic and business environment and the quality of life in San Marcos. They were Lauren Lowry – Lauren Lowry Interior Design; Robert Dorsey – McNabb & Co. Real Estate Services; Andrew Fernandez – San Marcos CISD; Jason Hendrix – Texas Regional Bank; and Cody Lock – Frost Bank.

Before the evening’s event concluded Outgoing Chairman, Tommy Curtis presented the gavel to Incoming Chairman, Justin Payne.
