Cost of Living

A critical factor in deciding where to establish a new business operation and/or where to be employed are the costs associated with the community or region you are considering.

Cost of Living

Overall, Texas offers a cost of living well below the national average. Major metropolitan markets will tend to have a higher cost of living compared to the communities found in the Texas Innovation Corridor. In the indexes list below, the cost of living in San Marcos is more than 3% below the national average. Home prices also tend to be more attractive.

Taxes

The tax structure is fair, competitive and designed to make companies feel welcome. Texas is one of only a handful of states with no individual income tax (a very attractive environment for transferring employees). The Texas Innovation Corridor is an ideal environment to relocate and expand your operation.

Local tax rates are established by individual cities, counties, school districts and other special districts, and are administered by the County Tax Assessor Collector.
